Description

O + I is creating a limited edition of 42 platters each made with a cast iron 'faux-bois' handle from the original Victorian kitchen garden at the royal family's Sandringham Estate. This piece (3/42) features polished sycamore (with its natural anti-bacterial qualities) from a fallen tree at the Sherborne Castle estate in Dorset - first laid out around Sir Walter Raleigh's house in 1594 when he leased the parkland from Elizabeth 1.
The iron studs on the underside are from a C19th oak door.
These are special pieces with fabulous provenances. 1870s and contemporary.
