Description
A bowl or mortar hand carved from solid grit stone in Devon or Cornwall. Extremely hard to date, its origin is C15th at the most recent, quite possibly much earlier. Nowadays, it is a mesmerising object, a wonderful bowl or planter indoors or close-by in the garden where it can double as a bird bath or dog bowl of serious panache.
