Description
Three boules cast in bronze alloy in three patterns - plain, scribed circles, chequered squares. Preceding and slightly larger than modern 2 piece Boules Lyonnaises (from 1925) these bronzed boules are rare (made for only a few years), following on from the early boxwood and boxwood with "clous" (nails) versions. Tactile and intimately evocative of daily village life in France a century ago these orbs are atmospheric, decorative and beautiful.
