Description
An original set in outstanding, barely used condition. FH Ayres Ltd of London supplied the highest quality games and sports equipment from 1865 to its acquisition by Slazenger in WWII. This boxed set is "The Championship" dating to 1910 and the box is additionally labelled "For Tournament Use" - the highest grade of balls available. The original tissue paper wrappers are slightly crumbled and the box lightly foxed - otherwise it is as bought over a century ago by "Mr EC Harrison Esq" as handwritten on the lid.
These balls are of very superior quality to modern balls and perfect for use today or to be set aside for display.
