Deep red "Heavitree" Stone from Exeter
Hand hewn, 1700s



A compact trough hand carved in the 1700s, possibly earlier, from the deep plum red Heavitree quarry stone in which the early parts of the cathedral city of Exeter were built. This trough is deep enough to take a shrub or a changing selection of potted plants throughout the year.
