Description
Saddler-made slippers to protect the lawn from dents when mown by the heavy horse as the Victorians, before the mechanical mower, embraced the idea of manicured grass for croquet, tennis and general garden immaculateness.
Thick leather in excellent condition. The imprint of the horse's metal shoes and frog is clear on the interior soles of each slipper - almost a finger print from a horse that long ago tended beautiful grounds hand-in-hand, or hoof-in-hand, with the gardeners.
They are a perfect size to accept an indoor pot of flowers and for any horse loving gardener.
