Description
A fine pair of limestone staddle stones. Two perfect examples of the classic Wiltshire style, cut with squared X section and gently convex curved sides. The limestone is in superb condition and clearly shows the mason's chisel patterns from well over 200 years ago on both bases and lids. To top the lot the lids have wonderful lichen patterns. 1700s.
We keep a selection of staddles in various regional styles, sizes and stones - please ask for details.
